R/C Airplanes

RC Airplanes can really be fun. You have hundreds to choose from. If you’re into kits, RTF (ready to fly) or ARF’s (almost ready to fly) there is an airplane for you. Nitro airplanes give you the realistic sound and feel of a real airplane but have a higher level of complexity. You will spend a lot more on accessories and setup time but your day will not be limited by the number of spare batteries and recharge time.

Once you get your airplane setup the way you want it then your start up time will be short. If you’re just starting out I would make the investment in the  Great Planes RealFlight 6.5 Airplane with Mode 2 InterLinkFlight Simulator.  It’s not the airplane diving into the ground that destroys it, it’s the sudden stop. So it’s better to have some to practice on your computer than crashing the real thing.

There are plenty of starter aircraft to choose from. A good start would be the Hobbico NexSTAR .46 Trainer ARF Airplane  Combined with a the  Spektrum DX6i DSMX 6-Channel Transmitter Only Mode 2 Radio and a flight simulator you are ready to start flying. You will also need a field box with a starter, spare plugs, Nitro fuel and a fuel pump when you first start out. Take your pick.
