This model is geared for the intermediate to advanced builder. If you’re just starting out building a balsa model then I would suggest one of the Guillows kits to cut your teeth on.  If you’re looking to move up to a more intricate build then this is the model for you. I would make sure you read the instructions thru a couple of times before starting so that you have a good grasp of the build. The model will take some time to assemble so be prepared for at least a couple of weekends and a few weekdays to put it together.

Pros

  • The cub is designed to have minimal weight.
  • All the parts assembled nicely.
  • The parts are all laser cut so they were easy to remove from boards.
  • Plenty on tissue provided in the kit

Cons

  • Instruction were a little hard to read.
  • Parts are not numbered so you will need number them yourself from the directions.
  • The trailing edge for the rudder and elevator need special attention so please review the video on how to do that.

All in all it was fun. So if you love to build. Then this would be a nice kit for you. If you’re into ARF’s then I would pass this up, unless you are ready for a good challenge.

Happy Building
